SO, WHAT IS A UKE-A-PALOOZA ANYWAY?

Picture
A Uke-A-Palooza is a reunion, a revival, an extravaganza to bring together people that have an interest in playing, owning or learning about ukuleles.  In reality, it is about people that want to laugh, sing, listen, strum a little, lose their inhibitions and share some time with uke minded people.

We had such a great time last year, we're going
to do it again!  and sgain this year, we're featuring workshops and performance by Wisconsin's own Lil' Rev!

If you come, be prepared to have a great time!  We are trying to keep UAP affordable for everyone so we are just asking for a $5 donation per person, or $10 per family.

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE UKE-A-PALOOZA?

BEGINNER'S WORKSHOP - This session will get you started on your journey to ukulele nirvana.  We will use our own beginner's book to have you ready to play some tunes within an hour.  Sign up for this session even if you don't own a ukulele - we have loaners for you to try.  You will get a copy of the book to keep.  The Beginner's Workshop will start promptly at 1:00 PM so we can get you ready for the group sing!  And, if you are really hooked, there will be ukuleles for sale or auction that you can take home with you.

GROUP SING - Our Music Director is putting together a set list of songs that the assembled multitudes - including the graduates of the Beginner's Workshop can play and sing together.  We will post the set on this site so you can practice your solos!  We will be projecting the chord/lyric slides on a screen so everyone will have the music!

OPEN MIC - We will have a sound system setup with multiple microphones for your performance pleasure.  Step up to the mics as a solo, duo, trio or a mob and sing your song!  We promise not to criticize or throw fruit!  Don't be surprised to see some really polished performers do their thing!
Bring copies of your music to share with the audience!

WORKSHOPS - We've scheduled a couple of sure-to-be-helpful workshops with Lil' Rev: one on Blues of Ledbelly, one on chord soloing.

SILENT AUCTION - While attending the Uke-A-Palooza, be sure to look over the items up for auction during the Silent Auction.  There will a number of ukuleles, musical accessories & songbooks as well as items outside of music.  Bring your checkbook and/or credit card!

MUSIC STORES - We have invited all of the local music stores to bring their wares in to sell.  They like to talk ukulele as much as we do and you can take home a new uke to support your UAS habit.  How many ukes does one person need?  Answer:  Just one more!

FOOD Expect to find a nice selection of
hors d'oeuvres to munch on while getting ready for your open mic performance.  Maybe some liquid courage purchased from the Moose Lodge servers would help more!

COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRTS - Buy a Uke-A-Palooza 2017 Commemorative T-Shirt to wear all summer long.  People in the ukulele "circle of trust" will know you are one of them.  Think about next years Uke-A-Palooza 2018 - wear your shirt, everyone knows you are a pioneer!  Shirts are cotton, screened with a really cool logo.  No ordering this year, walk up, pay your money, get a shirt!
